Melissa is a proven Life Science Event Organiser, with over a decade of event organisation under her belt, much of which working with EMBL-EBI and ELIXIR. She brings a highly sought-after global network of connections, comprehensive life science event industry knowledge, and a robust administrative, organisational and operational skillset. She has a particular interest in green events, focusing on sustainability and carbon footprint reduction wherever possible.

Before managing events, Melissa trained with the University of Cambridge to be an English Language examiner and teacher where she taught and examined extensively. She received a joint honours degree in Business Administration with Italian from Buckinghamshire Business School and Università degli studi di Bergamo and a Masters equivalent in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. She is bilingual and has been described as organised to the point of breaking tasks down to the minute detail - the 'Molecular Level' of detail - to achieve continuous process evolvement and successful outcomes.
